Recently, amid intense summer heat, the Zhejiang Engineering Institute, led by Chief Engineer Wei Mingguang, dispatched its project design team to the Henan Pingmei Shenma Caprolactam Project site to participate in the general contractor’s “Three Inspections and Four Confirmations” phase, conducting a four-day “design compliance” review. The design team carried out inspections for their respective disciplines based on the construction drawings and, for issues identified during the process, prioritized them according to factors such as significance and urgency to ensure timely resolution, thereby laying the groundwork for the smooth commissioning of the caprolactam project.

The caprolactam project of Pingmei is located in the Chemical Industry Cluster Zone of Pingdingshan City, Henan Province. In recent days, scorching temperatures have posed significant challenges to the design team, but on-site personnel have responded proactively. Despite tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and challenging conditions, they have persevered under the sweltering heat, completing their tasks according to the established schedule while diligently overseeing all preparatory work at the construction site.

In the next phase, Zhejiang Engineering Institute will thoroughly review the lessons learned from this EPC project and plans to dispatch personnel to companies with extensive engineering experience to gain insights into EPC management practices, as well as to adopt internationally aligned EPC project management systems and operational models. Moving forward, the institute will implement advanced management and control processes in its EPC projects, continuously enhancing its EPC management capabilities and building momentum for the company’s structural transformation toward an EPC‑focused business model.
