On December 28, Yuan Niu, Honorary Chairman of the China Petroleum and Chemical Exploration & Design Association, along with Deputy Secretary-General Zhang Baofeng and their delegation, paid a visit to the Zhejiang Engineering Institute and were warmly received by the company’s leadership.
Chairman Yuan Niu began by expressing his gratitude to Zhejiang Engineering Institute for its longstanding contributions to the petrochemical exploration and design sector and for the strong support it has consistently extended to the Association’s work, while also commending the Institute’s achievements in recent years. Chairman Yuan noted that Zhejiang Engineering Institute is an engineering design firm with a distinctly unique development profile, and emphasized that it should continue to leverage the strengths of Juhua Group to strategically chart its future growth. In the face of a persistently sluggish industrial economy, overcapacity in mass‑market products, and significant gaps in high‑end offerings, exploration and design firms are confronted with five key areas of adjustment: upgrading technical capabilities; deepening workforce transformation; pursuing international expansion; advancing corporate institutional reforms; and strengthening information‑technology infrastructure. Chairman Yuan stated that since taking charge of the Association in 1991, he has sought to make the Association a true home for all members. He urged enterprises to explore effective channels and methods for accessing the Association’s services and to bolster their internal competencies to address existing shortcomings. In 2016, the Association will launch the “Young Talent Development Program,” establishing the West Lake Talent Academy to offer targeted courses and bring together experts from across various sectors to mentor young professionals of exceptional caliber and comprehensive capability, helping them accelerate their professional growth. Looking ahead, the Association will devote itself wholeheartedly to generating innovative ideas for businesses, exploring strategic directions for industry development, and striving to elevate the entire exploration and design sector.
Leaders of the Zhejiang Engineering Institute expressed their sincere gratitude to Chairman Yuan and the association for their consistent attention and support of the company’s development. At present, while the company is poised to seize opportunities, it also faces certain bottlenecks. To address these challenges, it should further strengthen communication with the Juhua Group headquarters, draw on the experience of manufacturing enterprises, integrate their technical expertise, and achieve complementary workforce synergies. Additionally, the company should enhance the practical application of software tools such as AspenOne and SmartPlant, leverage specialized analytical instruments to identify operational weaknesses, improve quality while reducing costs, and elevate both its production capacity and technological capabilities. At the same time, it must bolster its own engineering design expertise and diversify avenues for value creation. Finally, the company should intensify talent development efforts, harness the full potential of its human resources to generate greater value, and strive to build a sustainable, high‑performing enterprise.
