On April 26, the Zhejiang Engineering Institute convened the Fifth Congress of Trade Union Members and Employees’ Representatives in the Sanqiang Hall, with 50 “Two Sessions” delegates from the company in attendance. Comrade Zhou Ming, Vice Chairman of the Juhua Group Company’s Trade Union, and Comrade Fang Yiqin, Director of the Trade Union Office, also attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Zhou Ming, Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of Juhua Group Co., Ltd., commended the Fourth-term Trade Union Committee for receiving such honorary titles as “Hangzhou Advanced ‘Workers’ Home,’” “Hangzhou Workers’ Vanguard Unit,” “Model Collective” of Hangzhou, and “May Day Women’s Pacesetter” of Hangzhou, as well as for the smooth implementation of all its tasks. He also emphasized the need to leverage the trade union’s role in organizing and guiding the broad workforce to achieve new accomplishments; to capitalize on the trade union’s strengths in safeguarding workers’ rights and interests in accordance with the law; and to strengthen the trade union’s internal development to enhance its vitality.
At the meeting, Comrade Zhu Yueting, Party Secretary and General Manager, also addressed the gathering, noting that over the past decade and more of the company’s development in Hangzhou, its success has been inseparable from the active participation and support of union members. The efforts made by the union have been reflected in the company’s overall performance, encompassing areas such as corporate culture building, the “Advanced Workers’ Home,” the “Dual Promotion” initiative, and recognition of model workers. He expressed gratitude for the bridging role played by the Fourth Union Committee. All members of the company’s union committee serve on a part-time basis and devote far greater effort than ordinary representatives; while fulfilling their primary duties, they also strive to provide excellent service to all. He called on all union members to actively support union activities in order to secure greater rights, enhanced services, and improved outcomes, and expressed the hope that the new union committee will make even greater contributions as the enterprise advances its transformation and upgrading.
The delegates carefully listened to the work report delivered by Comrade Zhang Binxian, Chairman of the Trade Union, on behalf of the Fourth-term Trade Union Committee. The report comprehensively summarized the achievements of the past three years. Emphasis was placed on publicity and guidance, with services aligned to the core objectives of production and operations; the system of workers’ congresses was upheld to advance democratic management within the company; efforts were made to enhance the company’s soft competitive edge through the cultivation of corporate culture; the trade union diligently fulfilled its role in safeguarding employees’ legitimate rights and interests; and, with a focus on strengthening the union itself, continuous strides were made to bolster its overall effectiveness and capacity.
At the congress, a new-term trade union committee and a financial audit committee were elected by secret ballot with a surplus of candidates; the specialized working groups of the employees’ congress were approved; and the work report was reviewed and adopted.
