On the afternoon of August 8, the Zhejiang Engineering Institute convened the Second Session of the Fifth Workers’ Congress and the 2016 Mid-Year Work Conference in the Sanqiang Hall on the first floor. The meeting was attended by employee representatives and cadres at or above the deputy section level. During the session, the General Manager’s mid-year work report was reviewed, and the company’s “Job-Level Advancement and Promotion Management Measures” and “Compensation Management System” were deliberated and adopted.

At the meeting, General Manager Zhu Yueting summarized the first-half performance and outlined plans for the second half. In the first six months of this year, under the leadership of the company’s management team, all employees successfully navigated the challenges posed by a sluggish market and achieved notable results, ensuring relatively steady growth. However, there remains a significant gap between current progress and the annual targets, necessitating even greater effort in the second half. The key priorities for the second half will focus on the following areas: First, drive new breakthroughs in commercial operations. This entails sharpening market analysis and insight, flexibly adjusting business and service models, strengthening collaboration in strategic sectors to secure major project wins, and continuously expanding information channels while fostering a company-wide commercial mindset. Second, deliver enhanced outcomes in project management. This includes reinforcing the management of design inputs and design reviews to refine process control; accelerating the coordinated advancement of 3D piping design; and bolstering financial and safety oversight for EPC projects. Third, make further progress in building a robust risk-management framework. This involves intensifying the analysis, assessment, and mitigation of legal risks; strengthening day-to-day contract‑related legal compliance; and expediting the implementation and ongoing refinement of the company’s information security initiatives.

Chairman Tang Yueming delivered a concluding address, noting that the company achieved solid operating results in the first half of the year, laying a strong foundation for the second half. As we enter mid-year, with several projects now coming on stream, it is essential to continue monitoring and advancing subsequent initiatives. He emphasized the importance of upholding lawfulness and regulatory compliance in corporate governance and strengthening oversight of business partners; of refining and perfecting the company’s management systems, as robust frameworks foster sound enterprise development and boost employee motivation; and of remaining steadfast in pursuing strategic transformation, adapting management approaches to each stage of development to align with broader reform dynamics. Furthermore, he underscored the need to leverage talent and technology as key drivers of growth, prioritizing technological reserves, bolstering platform development, and cultivating human capital through the integration of talent and project execution.
