In mid-November, the Zhejiang Academy of Engineering organized a one-day team-building training session for all employees at the Mingkanghui base in Yuhang. Through activities such as “The Da Vinci Code,” “Dragon Water‑Taking,” “The Great Wall Never Falls,” and “Nazca Giant Geoglyphs,” participants were encouraged to fully leverage and mobilize the collective wisdom of the entire team, building on each other’s strengths to collaboratively achieve a shared goal.
In the “The Great Wall Never Falls” project, more than a hundred people stood in a circle, tautly holding a 5‑mm‑thick rope. With staff providing safety support, the general manager leapt onto the rope and walked a full lap around the perimeter. At first, everyone thought it was unimaginable that anyone could complete such a long circuit without falling. Yet when the general manager finished his walk and landed on the grass, he remarked, “Actually, I didn’t feel tired at all—your support and the coach’s guidance kept me steady.” The same principle applies to work: as long as everyone pulls together and strives in the same direction, what often seems risky or uncertain can ultimately be achieved through trial and effort.
In the afternoon, there was also a segment dedicated to completing a giant painting. The artwork was divided into eight sections, with each team responsible for one part. Teams had to carry out three steps—measurement, line‑connecting, and coloring—and at the same time, they needed to coordinate with the teams on either side at the seams of the canvas, verifying and making adjustments as necessary. Finally, the eight sections were joined together to form a 12‑meter‑long masterpiece. This is akin to project management: within and across disciplines, thorough communication and consensus are essential to keep the project moving forward, complemented by proofreading and review to ensure that actions are executed correctly.
As the fourth quarter enters its final countdown, the team-building training program organized by the Zhejiang Engineering Institute has helped participants rejuvenate both body and mind, enriched their cultural and spiritual lives, and fostered a more energized and united spirit to drive the company’s year-end sprint.
