To further help newly hired employees quickly integrate into the company, adapt to their new environment, and take root here to thrive, the company held its 2024 New Employee Orientation Meeting on July 12 in the first-floor training room. Company leaders and heads of all departments attended the event. General Manager Pan Hao delivered a message to the new hires, while Discipline Inspection Commission Secretary Wu Xiaoyan gave them the “First Lesson on Integrity.”

General Manager Pan Hao extended a warm welcome to the new employees. He highlighted the company’s current operational status, the development opportunities it faces, and outlined the ongoing reform initiatives. He encouraged the new hires to seize this historic opportunity and actively contribute to the Group’s growth. He also set forth four key expectations: First, integrate quickly and take initiative in learning—adapt promptly to the company’s culture and work environment, and proactively familiarize yourself with its policies, procedures, and specialized knowledge. Second, be bold in practice and daring in innovation—given the rapid evolution of the design industry and the constant emergence of new technologies and concepts, he urged everyone to maintain a passion for learning, keep pace with the times, and courageously explore uncharted territories. Third, prioritize teamwork and strengthen communication skills—design projects often require close collaboration across departments and disciplines; he emphasized the importance of valuing collective strength, practicing active listening, showing respect and inclusiveness, and learning from one another to achieve mutual progress. Finally, uphold professional ethics and project a positive image—particularly in our core business of petrochemical engineering, where safety and environmental protection are of paramount importance. He called on all employees to consistently adhere to professional standards, act with integrity and trustworthiness, approach every task with rigor and attention to detail, and earn the confidence of clients and the respect of society through professional excellence and outstanding work.

At the meeting, Wu Xiaoyan, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection and Chairperson of the Trade Union, not only extended a warm welcome to the new employees but also underscored the critical importance of maintaining integrity in professional conduct. She emphasized that as young cadres enter the workforce and encounter various temptations and challenges, it is essential to uphold an unwavering commitment to ethical standards. Citing numerous real‑world cases, she vividly illustrated the grave consequences of violating workplace discipline, personal conduct rules, and relevant laws and regulations, serving as a stark warning to the new hires. Integrity, she noted, is not merely about adhering to established rules and procedures; it is a reflection of one’s character and the organization’s culture. It encompasses six key areas—political discipline, organizational discipline, integrity discipline, mass discipline, work discipline, and lifestyle discipline—and requires new employees to consistently safeguard both their personal reputation and the company’s standing, whether on or off the job.

On the eve of the new‑employee orientation, the company thoughtfully designed a dedicated photo‑wall, blending humorous slogans, the company’s bold logo, and inspiring motivational quotes. It quickly became a popular spot for newcomers to snap their first group photos with the organization. The HR department also held a mentorship ceremony, encouraging new hires to take exemplary mentors as role models, study diligently, strive for progress, and actively seek knowledge from books, colleagues, mentors, and real‑world experience—ultimately enhancing their skills across the board. Additionally, HR integrated the “murder mystery” game—a favorite among younger employees in recent years—into the training program, helping participants develop a clear understanding of professional ethics and personal growth, thereby boosting team efficiency and creating value for the company.

In this field of engineering design, brimming with both hope and challenge, every new team member is a future designer and a shaper of dreams. As General Manager Pan Hao aptly put it: “Within the Zhejiang Engineering family, each step you take will lay the foundation for future success.” We look forward to seeing every new employee transform their original aspirations and passion into relentless effort and practical action, using wisdom and hard work to paint the most vibrant hues on the canvas of our design blueprints.
