The engineering design firm continues to deepen its efforts in driving production optimization, cost reduction, and performance enhancement, actively contributing the expertise of its designers and cutting-edge technologies to its clients. Recently, the company’s Technical Committee, guided by the principles of fairness, impartiality, practical applicability, and a strong focus on value creation, has evaluated… 2023 The year’s various technological innovation achievements were reviewed, and ultimately “An Energy-Saving Process for a Dichlorotoluene Production Unit,” “… 40 Ten thousand tons / “Technological Integration, Application, and Innovation of the Caprolactam Plant,” “A Device and Method for Treating Off-Gases from Gas-Phase Fumed Silica Production,” and “…” S3D Four projects, including “Rapid Creation of Venting and Drainage Instruments,” were awarded the company’s Technological Innovation Award. The four projects not only solved users’ challenges but also delivered tangible benefits, It has also further enhanced the company’s technological competitiveness.
The project “Energy-Saving Process for a Dichlorotoluene Production Unit” addresses current challenges in dichlorotoluene production, including high levels of impurities in the crude product, elevated energy consumption, and rising treatment costs. In response to the client’s needs, the project team initiated an energy‑saving and consumption‑reduction retrofit. Through close collaboration with the client, and leveraging comprehensive data collection, rigorous analytical calculations, and comparative evaluation of multiple design options, the team successfully developed an optimized energy‑efficiency plan. This solution, without requiring significant additional investment in equipment or piping, achieves its goals by making minor adjustments to the distillation sequence and fine‑tuning the operating parameters of selected distillation columns. This has resulted in significant energy savings. Following the retrofit, the steam consumption per ton of product has decreased by as much as At 3.6 tons, the project far exceeded its original target—by a factor of 2.8—and generated annual energy‑saving benefits totaling RMB 7.2 million. As the company’s first successful foray into technology‑service projects, the “Energy‑Saving Process for a Dichlorotoluene Production Unit” achieved remarkable results with minimal resource input, underscoring the company’s strong expertise in energy‑efficiency upgrades and setting a benchmark for future energy‑conservation initiatives.
“A Kind of Gas” “The device and method for treating tail gas from precipitated silica” addresses the issue of tail-gas treatment by integrating and adapting process technologies from other chemical products. This achievement has been granted an invention patent by the National Intellectual Property Administration, effectively addressing a key challenge for users. The project “Technical Integration, Application, and Innovation of a 400,000‑ton‑per‑year Caprolactam Plant,” focusing on the treatment of caprolactam waste liquid, proposed a novel treatment process that was awarded a utility model patent by the National Intellectual Property Administration and has been widely recognized and adopted by end users. Furthermore, the tool “S3D Rapid Creation of Vent and Drain Instruments” has significantly boosted the efficiency of S3D designers: what previously took 2–3 minutes to complete—a table—can now be generated in just one second by quickly inserting vent, drain, and instrumentation points at designated locations along pipelines, saving over 90% of the time required for such tasks. This approach also enables modular design, and the resulting solution has been granted copyright protection for computer software.
The design firm places users at the center of its operations, continuously leveraging the expertise and creativity of its designers to strengthen user engagement and drive the company’s high‑quality growth.
