In her address, Wu Xiaoyan stated: “ Holding this table tennis tournament is intended to encourage everyone to make exercise and health management a positive daily habit, and to carry the spirit of tenacity demonstrated on the court into our everyday work. This is the first time the engineering design company has hosted a table tennis tournament on its newly installed synthetic court since the establishment of the Engineers’ Home. The competition is divided into men’s singles ( 40+ ), Men's Singles ( 40- ), mixed doubles, and women’s singles. The participating teams are divided into two groups of five each, with a round-robin format in the group stage; each match is played to four full games, and teams are ranked according to their points.
On the court, thrilling moments kept unfolding. Men’s singles ( 40+ On the court, two top players clashed in a thrilling showdown. Right from the opening rally, both sides engaged in fierce exchanges: one player served with heavy spin, aiming straight for the opponent’s backhand corner. The rival sidestepped and unleashed a crisp, powerful backhand drive—fast and ferocious. In response, the server countered with a forehand loop, leaving the other player momentarily unable to handle it. Back and forth they went, with the score locked in a tight battle. Every dazzling rally and clever change of direction drew thunderous cheers and applause from the crowd. ……
In the end, after a day of competition, Civil Engineering Team One and Construction Research Joint Team One took first and second place, respectively; the Office Joint Team and Civil Engineering Team Two tied for third.
