To support the Group’s Construction Department in fully implementing the Project Management System (PMS) and to enhance the proficiency of design managers and relevant specialists in using the PMS, while ensuring the smooth rollout of project management systems across all projects at the Western Base, the company recently organized a specialized training session focused on the use of the PMS—specifically its Design Management module—at the Western Base. The training highlighted key functionalities, including design initiation, the importance of preliminary planning, the preparation and ongoing maintenance of project schedules, the uploading of review‑approved drawings and the submission of feedback, the upload of equipment and materials lists, and the posting of blueprint‑level drawings. It underscored the need for design managers to engage in proactive planning to lay a solid foundation for project commencement. Additionally, using the Juhui Project as a case study, the session addressed common issues that frequently arise during practical implementation.

In terms of schedule management, design managers are required to maintain close communication with planning engineers to ensure that schedule deliverables are submitted on time and meet project requirements. Given the stringent schedule‑management expectations for the Western Project, design managers are encouraged to familiarize themselves with relevant details in advance, thereby ensuring thorough preparation for the project’s continued progress.

This training was both comprehensive and highly practical. By combining theoretical instruction with hands-on demonstrations, participants systematically mastered the operational skills of the construction project management system and gained a clear understanding of the key priorities and requirements of project work. Attendees unanimously expressed their commitment to applying what they had learned in their day-to-day work, thereby contributing to the digital and intelligent transformation of western‑region projects and the Group’s legacy initiatives.
